Yamaha Corporation (Head Office: Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, hereinafter "the Company") has begun a demonstration experiment for its immersive sound solution, "Sound xR Image," which realizes immersive sound, aiming to innovate the acoustic experience in small to medium-sized live performances. Live house "Merry You" in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture In recent years, as demand for experiential content has grown globally, interest in immersive, three-dimensional acoustic expression, "immersive sound," has rapidly expanded in live performance and concert settings. However, conventional immersive audio systems have primarily been introduced in large-scale venues, limiting opportunities to experience their effects in small to medium-sized venues. The Company's "Sound xR Image" is a scalable immersive sound solution that aims to address these challenges. The Yamaha Group has set a common vision of "Immersive Experiences for Everyone" and is working to lower the hurdles for adopting immersive audio systems. In this demonstration experiment, the "Sound xR Image" audio system will be installed at the live house "Merry You" in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, to verify the effectiveness and operability of new live space experiences created by immersive audio. This system uses object-based audio playback with five speakers to more precisely express localization on the stage side. Furthermore, compared to conventional stereo systems, it enhances sound separation and reduces interference, achieving a higher level of immersion. This demonstration experiment will be operated as a venue where not only sound engineers and artists but also those interested in spatial production utilizing immersive audio can experience its effects.
