Walkway Roof Taiyo Kogyo Corporation (Tokyo Head Office: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; Osaka Head Office: Yodogawa-ku, Osaka; President: Yuki Nomura), which handles large-scale membrane structures (tent structures), civil engineering materials, and logistics materials, was responsible for the membrane work in the new walkway roof construction at Omura City Motorboat Racecourse / BOAT RACE Omura (Omura City, Nagasaki Prefecture). This facility is connected to an adjacent walkway roof previously constructed by our company, and a membrane material was adopted to ensure design continuity. Omura City Motorboat Racecourse is known as the "birthplace of boat racing," where the first official boat race was held in Japan, and it is the southernmost and westernmost boat racecourse in Japan. The newly constructed walkway roof covers the pedestrian walkway leading to the parking lot extending to the east side of the facility, protecting visitors from rain, wind, and direct sunlight, and ensuring a comfortable and safe flow of movement. The white membrane roof has a high solar reflectance of over 75%, significantly reducing harsh direct sunlight and harmful UV rays. The high translucency of the membrane creates a bright and light space where natural light passes through, characterized by a flexibility and lightness not found in other building materials. Furthermore, due to the performance of the titanium dioxide photocatalyst*1 surface treatment, organic dirt is decomposed and washed away by rainwater, providing excellent antifouling properties that maintain the white appearance over a long period. *1 Titanium Dioxide Photocatalyst: This function absorbs sunlight (UV rays) and oxidatively decomposes organic matter. When sunlight hits a titanium dioxide photocatalyst membrane material, the phenomenon of decomposing organic dirt occurs. Additionally, titanium dioxide photocatalysts have a hydrophilic function, causing water droplets to spread horizontally and form a water film. This allows
