Sony Bank Corporation (President and CEO: Keiji Minami / Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo / hereinafter referred to as Sony Bank) announces that it has carried out planting utilizing the SynecocultureTM open-field cultivation method at Hibiya Park (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo / hereinafter referred to as Hibiya Park), a prefectural park in Tokyo. Since 2024, Sony Bank has been engaged in the maintenance of flower beds at the color leaf garden in Hibiya Park, using Synecoculture, a farming method that does not require plowing, fertilization, or pesticides, with the aim of promoting biodiversity. Planting has been conducted in spring and autumn since the initiative began in 2024. In this, the third year, based on the results of past planting activities, we have reviewed the plant species and seedlings to be planted from the perspectives of environmental adaptability, including weather conditions, and stable growth, and have made improvements to the environmental construction during planting. Furthermore, by having employees regularly manage and observe the color leaf garden, they deepen their understanding of the importance of biodiversity and ecosystems while experiencing the characteristics of Synecoculture firsthand. Additionally, by sharing information about plant growth and initiatives in the company newsletter, we provide opportunities for all employees to share this learning widely and consider the value of biodiversity and their contribution to a sustainable society. In addition to initiatives within Japan, as an overseas endeavor, since 2025, we have been supporting the introduction of Synecoculture to developing countries through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). In fiscal year 2025, demonstration activities are being carried out in Senegal and Cameroon, with efforts underway to address land degradation, improve agricultural productivity, and restore ecosystems. Sony Bank will continue to work on maintaining these flower beds in cooperation with Hibiya
