The Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation (SME Support, JAPAN) (Chairman: Masaru Miyagawa, Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) announced the "26th Japan Venture Awards," which honor ambitious startup entrepreneurs engaged in innovative businesses with high growth potential or those aiming to solve social issues. Applications are now being accepted. Since its inception in 2000, the Japan Venture Awards (JVA) has recognized numerous startup entrepreneurs who have garnered significant societal attention. To date, 393 individuals have received awards, and it is considered a gateway for entrepreneurs. This year's JVA will support the diverse endeavors of startup entrepreneurs through various awards, including the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award, the Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy Award, the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency Director-General Award, and the SME Support, JAPAN Chairman Award. Additionally, there will be a "Regional Challenge Solution Award" recognizing businesses contributing to solving regional issues, and a "Second Chance Entrepreneur Award." In addition to entrepreneur awards, we will also recognize venture capitalists who have made significant contributions to discovering and nurturing startups. The selection process will consider various aspects such as "entrepreneur's capabilities, growth potential, innovativeness, social contribution, and diversity (e.g., active participation of women, young people, and foreigners)." Selected awardees will be announced and honored at an awards ceremony to be held at Toranomon Hills Forum on December 15, 2026 (Tue). We look forward to your enthusiastic applications.
