Shohoutei Teppei will hold the "Shohoutei Teppei Solo Performance East-Central-West Tour 2026" to commemorate his 25th anniversary in the performing arts. Teppei, who received the 2025 "Hanjotei Grand Prize," is showing ever-increasing maturity. In addition to the customary "Teppei Talk," he will perform two classic rakugo pieces: "Nezumi Ana" and "Kinokuniya Takara no Irifune." It has been 25 years since he became Shohoutei Kikuya's 12th disciple in 2001. This solo performance is a culmination of the storytelling skills he has honed as a rakugoka, while also being active in a wide range of fields including television and radio. Last year, Shohoutei Teppei's solo performance was held in two cities, Osaka and Tokyo, but this year it will be held as an East-Central-West tour, with the addition of a Nagoya performance! It begins with the always popular "Teppei Talk." Appearing in Western attire, Teppei will speak at length in his unique style about everyday events, encounters with people, and tales of failure. After "Teppei Talk," there will be a short opening act, followed by the classic rakugo "Nezumi Ana." Then, it's a shift to the stage, which can be called the true forte of rakugoka Shohoutei Teppei. After an intermission, the performance will conclude with "Kinokuniya Takara no Irifune." The show will wrap up with a highly engaging piece befitting the milestone of his 25th anniversary. This solo performance will feature him tackling two classic pieces head-on, allowing the audience to feel Teppei's current position and future. Please enjoy the performances at ea
