October 12, 2026 (Mon, Holiday) 3:00 PM Start Seijo Hall Ballet Music, A New Frontier for Piano! Yoko Kikuchi, who gained sudden attention after winning the 2002 Mozart International Competition and is now one of Japan's leading pianists in both popularity and skill. She continues her international activities and, after collaborating with the Vienna State Ballet in recent years, has also poured her passion into collaborations with ballet. In March 2026, she recorded an album titled "Ballet Fantasy." This recital will feature a program centered around the pieces from this album, presenting what she most wants to convey at this time. The program consists entirely of concert pieces arranged by other composers and masters, not piano accompaniment scores for ballet lessons. The highlight is the latter half's "The Nutcracker" arranged by Tchaikovsky's favorite student, Taneyev. This is a work with a history, with Tchaikovsky reportedly having expressed reservations about its extreme difficulty. Experience the explosive artistry of musician Yoko Kikuchi!
