NPO Social Design Works (Headquarters: Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, Representative Director CEO: Tsuyoshi Kitayama) will hold the "Gochamaze Seminar - 5 Days Connecting with the Community -" as its summer internship program for 2026. This program is a hands-on internship that collaborates with welfare facilities and organizations active in the community, including the welfare facility for persons with disabilities "SOCIAL SQUARE," allowing participants to experience diverse welfare and connections with people within the community. Over the 5 days, participants will attend lectures on welfare, gain on-site experience at multiple facilities, and on the final day, plan and manage a community event for local residents themselves. The program is open to students and those in their early career (up to around 30 years old), and participation is highly welcomed not only by those studying welfare but also by those interested in community development and interacting with people. Participation is free, with a capacity of about 10 people. What is the "Gochamaze Seminar" Facility-Based Internship? The "Gochamaze Seminar," held for the first time this year, is a 5-day hands-on internship that allows participants to experience diverse forms of welfare and community engagement through lectures, on-site experience, and the planning and management of community interaction events. A key feature of this program is that it is conducted in collaboration with multiple welfare facilities and community organizations, not just a single facility, allowing participants to encounter diverse perspectives and values that cannot be gained from just one organization.
