Satofull Co., Ltd., operator of the hometown tax donation portal site Satofull, expressed its heartfelt sympathy to everyone affected by the forest fires that occurred in Otsuchi Town, Iwate Prefecture, in April 2026. The company announced that, starting May 14, it will begin accepting proxy donations from Kitakami City, Iwate Prefecture, to support Otsuchi Town through the “April 2026 Otsuchi Town, Iwate Prefecture Forest Fire Emergency Relief Donation Site,” which was opened on April 24, 2026. With this addition, the number of municipalities accepting donations through the site has increased to 10. The latest information, including the total amount of donations collected by each municipality, is available on the emergency relief donation site. Through the site, donors can use Japan’s hometown tax donation system to contribute to listed municipalities in amounts starting from 1,000 yen, in one-yen increments. For this relief effort, municipalities will not incur any expenses payable to Satofull. Satofull will cover donation payment processing fees, allowing donors’ goodwill to be delivered directly to the municipalities. The forest fire in Otsuchi Town was declared under control on May 2, 11 days after it broke out. Another wildfire occurred on May 7, but firefighting operations were carried out, and both incidents have now subsided. Satofull will continue accepting donations through the emergency relief donation site so that more people can support recovery and reconstruction in the affected area. Satofull Co., Ltd. stated that it will continue contributing to disaster-area support together with all those who wish to help affected regions, through initiatives supporting disaster-stricken municipalities across Japan. The supported municipality is Otsuchi Town, Iwate Prefecture. Municipalities accepting proxy donations are Shiranuka Town in Hokkaido; Miyako City, Ofunato City, Hanamaki City, Kitakami City, Tono City, Kamaishi City, and Shiwa Town in Iwate Prefecture
