Futako Tamagawa Rise, a large-scale mixed-use facility directly connected to Futako-Tamagawa Station on the Tokyu Den-en-toshi and Oimachi Lines, will hold its annual event "11th Futako Tamagawa Rise Futako Noh," where visitors can experience traditional Japanese performing arts, for two days on September 12 (Sat.) and 13 (Sun.), 2026. Noh is a musical drama in which masked performers in beautiful costumes advance a story through dance-like movements accompanied by vocal music called "utai." As a traditional Japanese performing art with a long history, it continues to fascinate audiences. The Noh and Kyogen performances, held annually at Futako Tamagawa Rise since the opening of Futako Tamagawa Rise Terrace Market in 2016, will mark their 11th year. The event is popular not only among those familiar with traditional performing arts like Noh and Kyogen but also with many local residents, providing an accessible opportunity to experience traditional arts in a familiar setting. While previously held outdoors as "Takinoh" (Noh by firelight), this year's event will move indoors to the "Futako Tamagawa Rise Studio & Hall," allowing attendees to enjoy the performances regardless of the weather. Furthermore, for the first time at Futako Tamagawa Rise, an experiential program, the "Children's Noh Experience Workshop," will be held before the performances. Children will have the opportunity to personally experience the charm of "Nohgaku," a traditional performing art that is rarely encountered.
