Prologis, a global leader in the ownership, operation, and development of logistics real estate (Japan Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yamada Osamu), has jointly received the "Encouragement Award" at the "1st Japan Logistics Award" presented by the Japan Association for Logistics and Transport (JALT). The "Japan Logistics Award" is a system that recognizes the achievements of organizations, companies, or individuals who have made efforts towards a sustainable logistics future through initiatives such as carbon neutrality and productivity improvement. Prologis has introduced Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) calculations in principle for all logistics facilities it develops in Japan*1. For these calculations, it uses the LCA calculation software "One Click LCA"*2, which complies with international standards and is sold by Sumitomo Forestry Co., Ltd. "One Click LCA" is software for which Sumitomo Forestry has an exclusive distribution agreement in Japan, and it can precisely calculate CO2 emissions from raw material procurement, processing, transportation, construction, operation, renovation, and disposal. This initiative has been recognized for enabling the quantitative grasp of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout the entire lifecycle of logistics facilities, leading to reductions in GHG emissions through the optimization of material selection, design, and construction. ■ Features of Prologis's LCA Calculations and Calculation Results for 2025 In the architecture and real estate sectors, reducing environmental impact across the entire lifecycle, including construction and demolition, in addition to energy-saving measures during operation, is considered important. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has established a study group on the "System for Promoting the Calculation and Evaluation of Building Life Cycle Carbon," and is considering institutionalizing building LCA. In light of these policy trends, Prologis has introduce
