Bandoh Chemical Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture) is enhancing its work environment in celebration of its 120th anniversary on April 14, 2026. As part of this initiative, and in alignment with the Bandoh Chemical Group's Sustainability Basic Policy, approximately 900 chairs used across eight domestic facilities have been replaced with office chairs made from recycled marine plastic waste. This effort contributes to the reduction of approximately 1.5 tons of marine plastic waste. ※ Marine plastic waste refers to plastic litter that is not properly disposed of or managed within coastal areas extending 50 km from shorelines. 1. Background In recent years, pollution caused by plastic waste entering the oceans has become increasingly severe, raising concerns about its impact on marine biodiversity and ecosystems. In response, the introduction of these office chairs supports the Bandoh Chemical Group's sustainability policy of "working to conserve biodiversity and ecosystems, as well as striving to prevent pollution in society and local communities." This initiative was implemented in conjunction with workplace improvements marking the company's 120th anniversary. Bandoh Chemical will continue to advance initiatives aimed at realizing a sustainable society. 2. Office Chairs Introduced Above
