Shimakoto Academy allows you to connect with and learn about "Shimane" while staying in Tokyo or Osaka. Applications for this year's program are now open. Through the courses, Shimakoto Academy aims to provide participants with the perspectives, methods, and networks to concretize their own unique ways of engaging with Shimane (related population, dual residency, UI turn) through learning from key figures active in Shimane and from the region, over a total of six consecutive sessions. The main lecturer is Kazumasa Sashiide, editor-in-chief of "Sotokoto." Masanori Hong of Mascos Hotel Co., Ltd./Masuda Kobo Co., Ltd. will serve as the Tokyo course mentor, and Kentaro Ogura of Miyauchisya will serve as the Kansai course mentor, supporting the participants throughout the program. The strength of Shimakoto Academy lies not in aiming for a specific goal through the courses, but in fostering unique initiatives between participants and Shimane. This term's courses aim to generate original and innovative challenges related to Shimane. ■ Overview [Schedule] Tokyo Course: Saturday, August 29, 2026 - Sunday, December 13, 2026 Kansai Course: Saturday, August 22, 2026 - Saturday, December 12, 2026 [Content] A total of 6 sessions will be held: 4 in-person sessions in Tokyo and Osaka (including one report session), 1 on-site internship in Shimane Prefecture, and 1 online session.
