Saitama Prefecture, in collaboration with Kawaguchi City and the Kawaguchi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will hold the "SKIP CITY KINETEC INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL" for eight days from January 31 (Sun), 2027, to February 7 (Sun), 2027. We are now accepting submissions for the competition, which will feature films and video works utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as AI and VFX (Visual Effects). 1. Submission Categories (1) Film Section Subject: Film works such as narratives and documentaries. Feature-length: Films 60 minutes or longer. Short-length: Films shorter than 60 minutes. Main Conditions: - Must utilize cutting-edge technology (e.g., AI, VFX, etc.). - Must be in a format that can be screened/played in a standard cinema environment. *Works requiring special equipment such as VR goggles or exhibited using multiple monitors are not eligible. - The director must have made four or fewer feature-length films (60 minutes or longer) that have been theatrically released. (2) Next Section Subject: Any video work that does not conform to traditional film frameworks (no runtime limit, genre-agnostic). (Examples: AI-generated video, vertical videos, music videos, media art, experimental films, CG animation using game engines, etc.) Main Conditions: - Must utilize cutting-edge technology (e.g., AI, VFX, etc.). - Must be in a format that can be screened/played in a standard cinema environment. *Works requiring special equipment such as VR goggles or exhibited using multiple monitors are not eligible. - Must be a work produced on or after July 1, 2025. 2.
