Poplar Publishing Co., Ltd. (Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President and Representative Director: Yuki Kato; hereinafter "Poplar Publishing") and Japan Post Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and Representative Director: Shinya Koike; hereinafter "Japan Post") will begin trial sales of children's books and other items at select post office counters starting July 22, 2026 (Wed). ■ Overview Poplar Publishing and Japan Post hope that through children's books, more children will experience new worlds and emotions, fostering their growth. However, with the decreasing number of bookstores nationwide and the existence of "zero bookstore areas" (Note 1) where no bookstores are present, opportunities to encounter books are diminishing. Against this backdrop, Poplar Publishing, which publishes a wide range of books, primarily children's books, and Japan Post, which has a postal network reaching every corner of the country, are collaborating to conduct trial sales of books at post office counters in areas where bookstores are declining. Based on the results of this trial sale, expansion to other regions will be considered. Poplar Publishing and Japan Post will continue to contribute to the healthy growth of children and the revitalization of local communities. ■ Trial Sales Period and Participating Post Offices ○ Trial Sales Period July 22, 2026 (Wed) - March 31, 2027 (Wed) ○ Participating Post Offices for Trial Sales Shinchi Post Office 979-2799 117-1 Yachigoya Shinchi, Shinchi-machi, Soma-gun, Fukushima Prefecture https://map.japanpost.jp/p/search/dtl/300182065000/ Kashima Post Office 979-2399 1-30 Nishimachi, Kashima-ku, Minamisoma-shi, Fukushima Prefecture https://map.japanpost.jp/p/search/dtl/300182063000/ Odaka Post Office 979-2199 1-38 Uemachi, Odaka-ku, Minamisoma-shi, Fukushima Prefecture https://map.japanpost.jp/p/search/dtl/300182027000/ Namie Post Office 979-1599 41-1 Gonge-do Minamifukushima, Namie-machi, Futaba-gun, Fukushima Prefecture https://map.japanpost.jp/p/sea
