Co-op Pal System Ibaraki Tochigi (Headquarters: Mito City, Ibaraki; Chairperson: Yasuyo Aoki) and Sakai Town (Mayor: Masahiro Hashimoto) signed an agreement on June 24 (Wed) concerning cooperation in promoting child-rearing support. Based on this agreement, "Omedetoubako" (congratulatory boxes) containing products useful for childcare will be delivered to families raising children. The co-op and the municipality will collaborate to foster an environment where town residents can raise children with peace of mind and children can grow up healthy. Community Watch Utilizing Co-op Delivery Infrastructure Under the "Agreement on Cooperation in Promoting Child-Rearing Support," Sakai Town will distribute an informational card for "Omedetoubako" as a birth congratulatory gift during the 3-4 month infant health check-ups. Families who wish to receive it can apply, and will be delivered products handled by Pal System, such as powdered kudzu starch and natural powdered broth useful for preparing baby food, along with recipe books and baby soap, free of charge. Pal System will deliver the "Omedetoubako" to the applicant's home on behalf of the town. During the visit, information such as a list of childcare consultation and support groups created by the town will be introduced, connecting to "watch activities" that support parents with childcare challenges. As a co-op supporting families raising children, Pal System will take on the role of providing products and delivery.
