Oz Vision Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Ryo Suzuki), which operates the point mall 'Hapitas' and the purchase app 'Pollet,' has launched a new service called 'Pashatoku' on June 30, 2026 (Tue.). This service allows users to find cheaper electricity companies and plans in as little as 30 seconds simply by uploading a photo of their current electricity company's My Page or meter reading statement. * This is the first initiative in the industry to allow electricity company switching to be completed solely by uploading a photo using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology. (As of June 2026, according to our research.) ■ Background In recent years, although electricity prices have been temporarily suppressed by government subsidies, they have repeatedly risen again as subsidies are reduced or terminated, leading to continued instability in household finances. According to the Statistics Bureau's "Consumer Price Index," prices overall (CPI total) rose by +11.9% in the five years from 2020 to 2025, while electricity prices rose by +18.1%, continuing to increase at a pace approximately 1.5 times faster than the overall price increase.* Since the liberalization of the electricity market, "re-selecting an electricity plan" has become a viable option for household financial defense that anyone can undertake. However, the complexity of information gathering and procedures often becomes a hurdle, leading to cases where people think "I'm interested, but I'll postpone reviewing it." Oz Vision developed "Pashatoku" as a means to eliminate this "procedural complexity" and enable everyone to easily choose the optimal electricity plan. To shed light on consumers' responses to rising electricity costs, we conducted a "Survey on Electricity Bills and Power Switching" targeting 804 Hapitas users in conjunction with this service launch.
