Hotel Okura Kobe, located in Chuo-ku, Kobe and led by President and General Manager Satoshi Ishigaki, will hold a summer holiday event for parents and children, “Parent-Child Challenge! Pastry Chef Experience Workshop,” on Saturday, July 25 and Saturday, August 1, 2026. Now in its third year, the workshop will feature an introduction and demonstration of how to make a shortcake adapted by hotel pastry chefs for home preparation. Participants will experience layering sponge cake, cream and strawberries, as well as decorating the finished cake with fruit. They will also try decorating mini fruit tarts. Multiple pastry chefs will provide careful support, even for children making sweets for the first time, and all cooking utensils will be prepared by the hotel. At the end of the event, children will receive a Kids Chef certificate, and participants will enjoy a pastry chef’s special cake and the mini fruit tarts they decorated.
