Narita International Airport Corporation has obtained "Suitable (Level 1)" certification under the Security Management System (SeMS) certification program (see below*) by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). SeMS (Security Management System) refers to a framework that enables the continuous maintenance and improvement of security amidst a changing business environment. This initiative is part of the efforts to provide the world's highest standards of safety and security, which are fundamental to airport operations, by promoting the "introduction of SeMS" alongside the "further introduction of advanced security equipment" to achieve the goal of "further enhancing security" set forth in the NAA Group's medium-term management plan "Gear UP NRT." In the assessment for obtaining this certification, the airport was evaluated favorably for its "system where security is integrated into the organization's business operations and functions effectively" and its "established foundation of quality management for continuous improvement," marking the first such certification for an airport in Asia. Through this certification, we will further enhance the security awareness of all employees and stakeholders and strive for even more secure and safe airport operations.
