Karuizawa Marriott Hotel in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, will begin offering “NAGANO WINE Discovery 2026: Summer” at its restaurant Grill & Dining G from Monday, June 1, 2026. The series presents seasonal tasting sets of “NAGANO WINE” selected by the hotel’s Sommelier Excellence-certified sommelier, expressing the terroir, climate, and seasonal scenery of Shinshu through aroma and flavor. The second installment, themed around refreshment and coolness, features two sparkling wines from Karuizawa Anne Winery, the only winery in Karuizawa. The lineup highlights light acidity and fine bubbles that evoke breezes across lush highlands, clear blue skies, and the cool air of summer mornings and evenings. A featured wine, “Anne no Awa Blanc de Noirs 2023,” is a dry sparkling wine with a pale salmon-pink hue and received the Diamond Trophy at the 13th Sakura Awards 2026. Made from grapes grown in high-altitude vineyards, it offers bright acidity, delicate aromas, taut fruit shaped by the cool climate, and fresh notes reminiscent of citrus, green apple, and white flowers. Its fine bubbles from secondary fermentation in bottle suggest highland morning mist and sunlight filtering through trees. The tasting set includes one glass each of “Anne no Awa Blanc de Noirs 2023” and “Anne no Awa Blanc de Blancs.” It will be available from June 1 to August 31, 2026, priced at JPY 3,900 per person, including service charge and consumption tax.
