Mitsubishi HC Capital Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Daiki KUI; hereinafter referred to as Mitsubishi HC Capital) has introduced the "Reborn VAIO®"*1 refurbished PCs with manufacturer warranty from VAIO Co., Ltd. (President: Ken ITOOKA; hereinafter referred to as VAIO) to Nagano Parceiro Athletic Club Co., Ltd. (President: Yasuhiro SHIBUYA; hereinafter referred to as AC Nagano Parceiro) (hereinafter referred to as this initiative). As a J.League Climate Action Partner since July 1, 2025, Mitsubishi HC Capital is promoting initiatives in collaboration with the J.League and J. Clubs to realize a decarbonized society*2. As part of this initiative, Mitsubishi HC Capital procured Reborn VAIO® from VAIO and sold it to AC Nagano Parceiro. It is estimated that this initiative will reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 137kg-CO2 per PC throughout the lifecycle from the introduction of Reborn VAIO® to its final disposal*3. Both AC Nagano Parceiro and VAIO are based in Nagano Prefecture, and this initiative also contributes to the creation of environmental value through regional collaboration. This initiative falls under "Sustainable Procurement," one of the evaluation indicators in "Sports Positive Leagues"*4, in which the J.League participates, and contributes to the league's climate action. In this model, Mitsubishi HC Capital will procure PCs (new) from VAIO and provide them to users as a carbon offset PC-LCM (Life Cycle Management) service*5. After use, they will be collected and resold to VAIO, and VAIO will refurbish and regenerate them into Reborn VAIO® to be provided to AC Nagano Parceiro and partner companies, thereby promoting the circulation of PC resources.
