Antarctica remains largely unaffected by human activities and preserves the Earth's original environment. As such, it serves as a crucial research base for understanding current environmental conditions and future climate change. Japan's Antarctic observation teams have conducted long-term, intensive monitoring of ice sheets, oceans, and atmospheric circulation, contributing significantly to clarifying global climate change mechanisms. The special exhibition "DAI-NANKYOKU-EXPO" commemorates 70 years of Japan's Antarctic observation program and is an experiential exhibition showcasing past observation activities and challenges. Visitors will assume the role of "Special Antarctic Observers" and experience, through immersive videos and diverse interactive exhibits, the various missions carried out by the observation teams.
