The Japan Medical Association (JMA) (President: Yoshiro Matsumoto) has recently launched its official Instagram account, "Nii-kun Official Instagram," to disseminate information that the public can utilize for health promotion and other purposes. "Nii-kun" Instagram Account This account aims to pique the interest of the public, who may not be familiar with the JMA, in the association's activities by having its official character, "Nii-kun," deliver information in a conversational style. While keeping in mind the primary user base of Instagram, aged 10 to 40, the content will focus on timely topics such as prevalent diseases and heatstroke, as well as health information that is expected to be beneficial to core Instagram users, including content from the JMA's regular publications "Health Plaza" and "Health Plaza Plus," which are also available on the JMA's website. Iwao Kurose, a standing director who explained the launch of the Instagram account at the JMA's regular press conference on July 1, stated, "As part of our public relations efforts utilizing social media, the JMA is already disseminating information via YouTube and LINE. With Instagram, we aim to reach a wider audience, including those who may not have had the opportunity to view our YouTube or LINE content," and urged people to follow the account.
