Mampei Hotel (Location: Karuizawa Town, Kitasaku District, Nagano Prefecture; General Manager: Ichiro Sasaki) will launch the "Alps Lemonade" at its bar starting July 1, 2026 (Wed), in conjunction with the "Alps Building 90th Anniversary Project" commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Alps Building. Image of "Alps Lemonade" The period from the Taisho era to the early Showa era, when the Alps Building was constructed, was also a time when many literary figures gathered in Karuizawa. Mampei Hotel also hosted these writers, who penned their works here, and the hotel became the setting for numerous stories. Ryunosuke Akutagawa's "Karuizawa Diary," which describes his stay in Karuizawa, includes an account of stopping by Mampei Hotel during a walk with Saisei Muro and drinking "Lemonade." This cocktail is inspired by the stories surrounding Mampei Hotel. Based on an original lemonade, it is finished as a beautiful red cocktail reminiscent of the Alps Building, with the addition of raspberry liqueur and red wine. The hotel-made lemonade has a sharp, refreshing taste with prominent acidity. Combined with the floral notes of raspberry and the complexity of red wine, it is a refreshing yet substantial drink. Enjoy this dignified, beautiful, and somewhat nostalgic cocktail, along with the stories woven through the 90-year history of the Alps Building, in our authentic and relaxing bar, which retains its atmosphere unchanged since its construction. ■ About "Alps Lemonade" Offered at the bar in conjunction with the "Alps Building 90th Anniversary Project," this is a beautiful red cocktail that evokes the serene atmosphere of the Alps Building.
