KOKUYO CO., LTD. (Head Office: Osaka City / President: Hidekuni Kuroda) is pleased to announce that its "Campus Eraser That Erases Well Yet Resists Breaking," launched in September 2025, has won the Excellence Award in the Sustainable Category at the "35th Japan Stationery Awards 2026." This year's Japan Stationery Awards, which honor the most outstanding stationery products of the year, selected the "Campus Eraser That Erases Well Yet Resists Breaking" for the Sustainable Category Excellence Award. The award recognizes the product's achievement in realizing sustainability from a wellbeing perspective, achieved through a development process that actively involved users who have difficulty applying physical force. Launched in September 2025, this is a new eraser developed by KOKUYO. Using a "hybrid manufacturing method" that encapsulates an adsorbing component effective for erasability within a structural component that enhances durability, it achieves both high erasing performance and resistance to breaking. Furthermore, during development, KOKUYO incorporated its proprietary inclusive design process, "HOWS DESIGN." The parallelogram-shaped eraser was designed for easy handling and efficient erasing with minimal force. The optimal angle of the parallelogram was determined through actual testing by users with upper limb disabilities, who used prototype erasers at three different angles. This process, designed to respond to the individual comfort of each user, aims to enhance usability for a wide range of people.
