TOKIUM Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Kenichi Kurosaki; hereinafter "TOKIUM"), a provider of AI expense agents, announces that Nihon Treat Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Junichiro Usui; hereinafter "Nihon Treat") has introduced TOKIUM AI Expense Approval. ■ Background Nihon Treat is a construction company with over 100 years of history since its founding in 1925, specializing in special construction work such as asbestos removal. As their projects span across the country, employees at construction sites frequently submit expense reports for items like parking fees, totaling approximately 9,000 cases annually. In addition to numerous confirmations and corrections due to input errors or non-compliant submissions, all verification of receipt images and checks for duplicate submissions were done manually, placing a significant burden on the accounting department. ■ Reasons for Selection The biggest deciding factor was the AI's ability to check expense reports for discrepancies while referencing internal regulations and to perform initial approvals on behalf of staff. In cases of discrepancies, the relevant section and reason are displayed, making it easy to check and reducing processing time. The system's design, which allows the company to add and adjust judgment rules from the management screen and enables human final judgment on applications flagged as "pending" by the AI, was also highly rated. Nihon Treat has been using TOKIUM Expense Settlement since 2023, and the ability to manage the entire process from expense application to approval within TOKIUM, as well as the electronic storage of receipts, further supported the decision to adopt the system. ■ Comment from Rie Mitsuzawa, Accounting Department, Nihon Treat Co., Ltd. Initially, I had some concerns about entrusting expense approvals to AI, but after the testing period, we were able to transition to full operation with peace
