SOMPO Himawari Life Insurance Company (President and CEO: Yasuki Kume, hereinafter "the Company") announces that on June 25, 2026, it signed a comprehensive collaboration agreement with Miyagi Prefecture (Governor: Yoshihiro Murai) regarding cancer awareness and improving cancer screening participation rates. 1. Background and Purpose In Miyagi Prefecture, the number of deaths due to cancer remains at a high level. Improving cancer screening rates across broad population segments, including working-age generations, and promoting accurate knowledge about cancer are ongoing challenges. The prefecture has been actively engaged in initiatives to raise awareness about the importance of cancer screenings and to disseminate correct information. As a "Well-being Support Company," the Company is addressing key social challenges such as the three "inadequacies"※ related to health, nursing care, and retirement funding, and is promoting initiatives across regions to enhance public health, prevent the need for long-term care, and support asset formation. This agreement was established based on the Company's strong alignment with Miyagi Prefecture's vision and initiatives. By leveraging the Company's services and expertise, we aim to contribute to solving local residents' challenges and to the revitalization of the region. ※ The three "inadequacies": "Inadequacy of health"—the gap between average lifespan and healthy lifespan; "Inadequacy of nursing care"—a decreasing number of caregivers and worsening supply-demand imbalance in care services; "Inadequacy of retirement funds"—the low proportion of individuals able to save sufficiently for retirement. 2. Agreement Contents The parties will collaborate and cooperate on the following initiatives: (1) Initiatives to improve cancer screening participation rates (2) Initiatives to provide and disseminate accurate information about cancer prevention (3) Collaboration and support for awareness campaigns, events, and other activities rela
