July 1, 2026 genOway Japan Inc. genOway Japan Inc. (hereinafter referred to as genOway) is pleased to announce that it will join the membership of Shonan Health Innovation Park (hereinafter referred to as Shonan iPark) starting July 1, 2026. genOway is a global leader in the design and development of humanized mouse models of the immune system, providing high-quality humanized models that contribute to improving the predictability of drug discovery research. In particular, its next-generation humanized immune system models, including the "BRGSF-HIS" model with both myeloid and lymphoid lineages humanized, have received high acclaim in fields such as immuno-oncology. In recent years, with the low success rate of drug discovery becoming a major challenge, improving human translatability in preclinical studies is extremely important. genOway supports the bridge from non-clinical to clinical studies by developing models that more accurately reproduce human biological responses, based on meticulous genetic design and rigorous validation processes. These models have a track record of contributing to the creation of innovative pharmaceuticals, including their use in the development of the immune checkpoint inhibitor "Opdivo (nivolumab)". Through its participation in Shonan iPark, genOway will further strengthen collaborations with domestic and international pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, and academia, accelerating the creation of Japan-originated innovation. By providing highly predictive preclinical models, genOway aims to contribute to the efficiency of the drug discovery process and improve its success rate, thereby facilitating the early realization of innovative pharmaceuticals. ■About Shonan iPark URL: https://www.shonan-ipark.com/ Shonan iPark, established in April 2018 when Takeda Pharmaceutical Company opened its research facilities to the outside, is Japan's first science park originating from a pharmaceutical company.
