Fujikura Ltd. (President & CEO: Naoki Okada) held a "Fujikura Gakuen Product Sale" for employees and others on June 24 and 25 at its Kiba Headquarters. This product sale is held twice a year, in June and December, as part of the Fujikura Group's CSR activities. Fujikura Gakuen was founded in 1919 by Harukichi Nakauchi, the younger brother of founder Zenpachi Fujikura, who invested his private funds to establish a facility for people with intellectual disabilities. It is the origin of the Fujikura Group's social contribution activities. At "Oshima Fujikura Gakuen" in Oshima Town, Tokyo, vocational training is provided at the "Fujicafe" daily life support business office with the aim of promoting the economic independence of residents. Fujikura regularly holds sales of sweets provided by "Fujicafe" to continuously support the economic independence of residents. At this sale, eight young employees cooperated to sell products such as ashitaba pound cake and green chili pound cake made with island specialties, as well as an assortment of six types of cookies. The venue was bustling with many employees, and all products sold out in about 20 minutes on both days. Many employees also cooperated with a fundraising campaign for the school held concurrently. Employees who participated in the sale commented, "I'm glad I could participate in social contribution activities" and "I hope these initiatives continue." Employees who purchased products also expressed their happiness, saying, "I'm happy that my purchase contributes to supporting Fujikura Gakuen." The Fujikura Group will continue to position support for Fujikura Gakuen as the origin of its social contribution activities and will continue fundraising, product sales, and volunteer activities for Fujikura Gakuen.
