It was the first public vocational school for women in Japan, dedicated to the mission of higher education for women. With over 100 years of history and tradition since its founding, many of its graduates have gone on to play active roles in various fields and contribute broadly to society. In 2011, the university reorganized into the Faculty of Global and Liberal Studies, focusing on nurturing "next-generation female leaders" capable of working in a wide range of fields beyond national borders. As part of this initiative, all first-year students participate in a year-long residential education program at the "Nadeshiko International Student Dormitory," living alongside international students. ■ Past Initiatives by Folk Inc. and Fukuoka Women's University * Su
