EcoFlow Technology Japan Inc. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as EcoFlow), a developer of cutting-edge portable power stations and clean power technology, will supply electricity through portable power stations to the Komagata lanterns attached to the "Yamaboko" floats that illuminate the nights of the Kyoto Gion Festival, one of Japan's three major festivals, held in July. As various companies and products advance initiatives to reduce environmental impact, sustainable operational methods are also being sought for traditional events. With this in mind, preservation associations and EcoFlow began collaborating in 2023, and this year marks the 4th consecutive year of free support. EcoFlow believes it is important to expand this initiative beyond a one-off case to the entire Gion Festival and, furthermore, to traditional events nationwide. By utilizing portable power stations and renewable energy, we aim to propose a new way of celebrating festivals that reduces environmental impact while preserving tradition. ■ Power Supply Destinations During the first half of the festival (July 14-16), EcoFlow's portable power stations will be provided for the first time as a power source for the Komagata lanterns not only to the "Aburatenjiyama" Preservation Association, which has been supported traditionally, but also to the "Taishiyama" Preservation Association. Additionally, during the latter half of the festival (July 20-23), the Komagata lanterns will be lit using EcoFlow's portable power stations by the "Takayama" Preservation Association. Furthermore, in cooperation with the Gion Festival Zero Waste Operation, portable power stations, portable air conditioners, and portable refrigerators/freezers will be provided for the operation headquarters tent. These products are expected to be used to improve the working environment for staff, prevent heatstroke, and manage beverages and refrigerated items. ■ Future Schedule ・Various Yamaboko Floats July 14 (Tue) - 16 (Thu):
