A research study published in February 2024 by The General Insurance Association of Japan revealed that insurance claims due to theft of metal cables and other items have surged to approximately 20 times the level of five years prior in fiscal year 2022. Furthermore, in response to the increase in metal theft, including the theft of metal cables from solar power facilities, measures are being strengthened socially, with the Act on Countermeasures against Metal Theft being enacted and promulgated in June 2025. Against this backdrop, "AI Guardman® for Solar System" was adopted at facilities owned by ERE with the aim of reducing the risk of metal cable theft and strengthening facility security. *Source: The General Insurance Association of Japan "Research Study on the Actual Damage to Solar Power Generation Facilities, etc." (Published February 2024) https://www.sonpo.or.jp/news/notice/2023/g34l0i00000013yd-att/240209_01.pdf *Source: National Police Agency "About the Act on Countermeasures against Metal Theft" https://www.npa.go.jp/bureau/safetylife/scrap/scrap.
