Dohō University holds historical materials exhibitions by the Buddhist Culture Research Institute twice a year at its campus facilities. The theme for the first half of fiscal year 2026 is "Shinran Shonin Go-eden Exhibition," which will display Buddhist paintings from the Sengoku to early modern and modern periods, along with related historical materials. Admission is free and open to everyone. [Project Coordinator] Professor Wataru Ando (Faculty of Letters) Professor Wataru Ando is a researcher of Japanese history and Buddhist history, with a particular focus on the religious history of the Sengoku period (in recent years, he has also been involved with the NHK Taiga drama "Dousuru Ieyasu"). Students in Professor Ando's seminar in the Department of Buddhist Studies choose themes for their graduation theses such as Jataka tales (stories of the Buddha's past lives), depictions of hell, the history of Shin Buddhist movements and Buddhist history including "Ojo Yoshu" and the Ikko-ikki uprising, and hidden Nembutsu practices, as well as the state of Buddhism in contemporary society. ◆ Learning in the Faculty of Letters This faculty offers broad and deep learning and thinking about literature, history, culture, and Buddhism. Students learn about human thought and ways of life, understand their essence through study, and r
