Digital Hollywood University (DHU), which offers the Faculty of Digital Communications (a four-year university program) where students learn digital content, planning, and communication, and the Graduate School of Digital Contents (a professional graduate school) that bridges theory and practice to create new businesses, and is a privately funded university authorized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Naohiro Fujii), has partnered with Cloud Doctor Inc. (Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture; Representative Director: Takayuki Akamatsu), the operator of the online medical consultation platform "Cloud Doctor," to commence a demonstration experiment utilizing online medical consultation services starting July 1, 2026. This initiative is part of the "President's Project," launched as a practical application of "Live Scientifically," one of President Fujii's core values. It was prompted by student feedback, such as "I don't have time to go to the hospital" and "I postpone seeking medical attention even when I feel unwell," from students who are also medical doctors. [Background of Implementation] The university environment has undergone significant changes in recent years, with diversifying student lifestyles and learning styles. Challenges include difficulty in securing time for hospital visits due to balancing classes, extracurricular activities, and part-time jobs, as well as access to medical care when falling ill during evenings or holidays. Furthermore, DHU has many international students, and concerns about language barriers when feeling unwell and support during medical consultations are also significant issues. Through this demonstration experiment, we aim to achieve medical access that is not restricted by time or location by utilizing online medical consultation services, while also strengthening support for international students through multilingual support.
