Coupa K.K. (Reading: Kūpa, Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director and President: Koichiro Sorimachi, hereinafter "Coupa"), a provider of the leading platform for autonomous spend management that optimizes corporate spending with the power of AI, announced that it is supporting Userbase Inc. (Tokyo, Chiyoda-ku, Representative Director and CEO: Yusuke Inagaki, hereinafter "Userbase") in strengthening its procurement management foundation through the utilization of its platform. ■ Background of Implementation Under its mission to "Change the world with economic information," Userbase provides business information infrastructure that supports corporate decision-making, including its major services such as NewsPicks and Speeda. To build a scalable system capable of supporting future business expansion and a globally integrated procurement platform, Userbase has been gradually implementing and utilizing Coupa since 2024. ■ Deciding Factor for Adopting Coupa The adoption was largely decided by Coupa's alignment with Userbase's requirements for future business expansion, such as being a globally capable SaaS with a simple architecture, and its ability to cover the entire group and all expenditures. The platform also aligned with Userbase's policy of aiming to build advanced systems that serve as a benchmark for other companies in the Corporate IT domain. ■ Agile Phased Release and Expansion An agile methodology is being employed, with the project starting in January 2024, followed by a release with the minimum viable use case in June of the same year, and subsequent phased releases to expand to all processes and domestic subsidiaries. A system has been built that enables end-to-end execution of ordering, receiving, and invoice matching based on agreed-upon information from upstream processes such as quotations and purchase requests, promoting automation and efficiency in operations. Efforts are also underway to utilize AI for further efficiency gains. ■ Fut
