Amid these shifts, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs works to build relationships with countries worldwide and aims to achieve a peaceful and secure international society. Centered on the diplomatic and security basic vision 'Free and Open Indo-Pacific (*1),' the ministry is promoting cooperation with developing and emerging nations known as the Global South and strengthening supply chains, including those for critical minerals. To conduct strategic diplomacy and protect national interests, and to contribute to maintaining and strengthening the international order while enhancing Japan's global presence, the ministry must further strengthen its organization. To this end, it is focusing on hiring individuals from the private sector. The ministry has previously welcomed talent from diverse backgrounds such as finance, manufacturing, media, consulting, and IT. To further expand this initiative, it will again widely recruit talent this year with EN's support. Two positions are open for recruitment: 'General Position Equivalent (Assistant Section Chief / Section Chief level),' for candidates with broad professional experience expected to become future leaders, and 'Specialist Position Equivalent (Counselor level),' for professionals with deep expertise in specific countries, regions
