Following their extensive talks yesterday, US President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a small-scale meeting at Zhongnanhai this morning. Attendees from the US side included President Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Ambassador to China David Perdue. Around 11 a.m., Trump arrived at Zhongnanhai for the meeting, which included a tea gathering and lunch. According to the White House, other US officials present were Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer. Chinese officials in attendance included Cai Qi, Wang Yi, He Lifeng, Ma Zhaoxu, and Xie Feng. After the meeting, Trump and his delegation are scheduled to return to the US around 2 p.m.
