Pingtung Ligang Township representative Zeng Cong-yu and others have been indicted by the Ciaotou District Prosecutors Office for illegally dumping over 1,300 tons of waste. The waste, sludge mixed with plastic from a drainage cleaning project, was dumped on agricultural land in Qishan, Kaohsiung. The illegal operation involved a construction company owner and a truck driver. Legal disposal would have cost over NT$3.14 million. Prosecutors are pursuing charges to crack down on illegal dumping.
