At the Asian Weightlifting Championships held in India, Taiwanese two-time Olympic weightlifter Chen Wen-huei won three silver medals in the women's 69kg category. She recorded 104kg in the snatch, 135kg in the clean and jerk, and a total of 239kg, finishing just behind North Korea's Song Kuk-hyang. Her clean and jerk and total scores set new national records. Coach Huang Ta-te praised her overall performance, noting that despite an initial failure in the snatch, she recovered well. They will continue to refine her techniques as they prepare for the upcoming Nagoya Asian Games.
