Former Democratic Party Vice Chairman Law Kin-chung was released today after completing his sentence. According to reports from Hong Kong media including Hong Kong 01, in the pro-democracy "35+" primary case, 47 people were charged with "conspiracy to subvert state power" under the Hong Kong National Security Law. 45 were convicted and previously sentenced at the West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts, with sentences ranging from 4 years and 2 months to 10 years. Some have already been released. Law Kin-chung was sentenced to 4 years and 8 months and served his sentence at Stanley Prison. He completed his sentence today. Around 5 a.m. today, two police vehicles entered Stanley Prison, with at least 10 police officers on standby outside the prison. The two vehicles left the prison around 5:45 a.m. Reports indicate that Law Kin-chung left the prison in one of the vehicles, accompanied by the police. Law Kin-chung posted on Facebook around 9:30 a.m. today, stating, "Having breakfast with family and friends, a long-awaited reunion. I have completed all my terms, thank you all for your support and concern over the years. Looking forward to starting the next chapter of my life."
