He becomes the third local left-handed pitcher in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) to reach this mark. However, his team ultimately lost 4-5 to the Uni-President Lions. Chiang Cheng-yen began his career in 2013 after being drafted by the Lions. He started appearing in the first team in 2014. Through a trade, he moved to the Taishang Eagles in 2024, becoming a crucial starting pitcher for this emerging team. In the past two seasons, he pitched a full 110 innings each, and with today's game, he had accumulated 997 career innings before the start of play. Facing his former team as a starter today, Chiang Cheng-yen reached the milestone within the first 3 innings. He ultimately pitched 6 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs.
