Central News (Central News Agency Reporter Su Chih-yu Taipei, July 3) The Little League Baseball (LLB) Asia-Pacific Championship concluded today, with Taoyuan Xinming Junior High School winning the Junior League division championship and securing the right to represent the region at the World Series in the United States. In the Little League division, Taitung Hongye Elementary School lost to host South Korea in the championship game and missed out on Williamsport. Xinming Junior High School began this tournament with a 13-0 shutout victory over Japan for their first win. They then followed up with 15-0 and 15-0 victories against American Samoa and the Northern Mariana Islands, respectively, to secure first place in their preliminary group. In the semi-finals, they defeated Hong Kong 11-0, and in the championship game, they faced Japan again and won 14-0. Through a press release from Little League Baseball Taiwan, Xinming head coach Huang Wei-chih stated, "During the games, I continuously urged the players to stay focused, and I'm very happy that they were able to do so, demonstrating a strong desire to win. After returning to Taiwan, we will make adjustments to our hitting and pitching in preparation for the World Series in August." Hongye Elementary School also secured first place in their group in the Little League division. In the semi-finals, they defeated New Zealand 13-2. However, in the championship game, they were suppressed by the South Korean team, with their offense unable to connect effectively, losing 1-3 and missing their chance to advance to the United States. The LLB Junior League World Series will be held from August 9th to 16th in Taylor, Michigan, USA. Xinming Junior High School will be aiming for their 7th championship title in team history and Taiwan's 5th consecutive championship.
