Grassroots civil servants, who had transitioned to an auditing role, are now being forced to return to cleaning parks on the front lines. The NPP caucus said that some grassroots personnel are required to clean four parks totaling 5,566 ping (approximately two standard football fields) in a single day. Others have to travel up to 17 kilometers to cover four parks. According to internal schedules provided by grassroots staff, starting July 1st, the entire department will only have 24 grassroots personnel, organized into 18 teams, responsible for nearly 130 parks, green spaces, public squares, and restrooms in Hsinchu City.
