Taipower had previously planned to complete the inspection of all identical units within one month. Taipower stated today that the inspection of 76 wind turbines was completed by the end of June, and the results have been reported to the Energy Administration for review. The Energy Administration responded that a committee is expected to be formed subsequently to handle related matters. Taipower Company's Mailiao wind farm Unit 17 caught fire on May 31. The Ministry of Economic Affairs had previously requested Taipower to complete the inspection of 76 identical wind turbines within one month, and asked the Energy Administration to propose improvements within three months based on the inspection results, including maintenance management and operational requirements. Taipower explained in its reply to CNA's inquiry today that to ensure the safe operation of the wind turbines, as instructed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, all 76 Vestas identical model wind turbines have been fully inspected by the end of June. The relevant inspection results have been submitted to the Energy Administration for review.
