Central News Agency (CNA) - Taiwan stocks trended higher with volatility this week, closing at 46,780.62 points in the main board today, up 2,208.86 points or 4.96% for the week. According to Taiwan Stock Exchange statistics, the total market capitalization of listed companies reached NT$152.6612 trillion, an increase of NT$7.2055 trillion from last week, once again surpassing the NT$150 trillion mark. In terms of industry sector indices, the plastics sector saw the largest weekly gain of 27.90%, while the digital cloud sector experienced the largest decline of 5.35%. The index excluding financial stocks rose 2,245.43 points, a gain of approximately 5.62%. The index excluding electronics stocks rose 772.34 points, a gain of approximately 3.33%. The index excluding financial and electronics stocks rose 1,200.24 points, a gain of approximately 7.98%. This week's total turnover for all listed stocks was NT$5.4169 trillion. The top three industries by turnover were semiconductors at NT$2.2173 trillion, accounting for 40.93% of the total trading volume of listed stocks; electronic components at NT$1.2537 trillion, accounting for 23.14%; and optoelectronics at NT$438.096 billion, accounting for 8.09%. Additionally, the turnover rate for all listed stocks this week was 4.39%. The top three industries by turnover rate were optoelectronics at 21.30%, glass and ceramics at 12.89%, and chemicals at 12.10%. Cumulatively, over 119 trading days since the beginning of the year, the total turnover in the main board has been NT$122.4337 trillion, with an average daily turnover of NT$1.0288 trillion.
