When officers arrived, the suspect fled on foot but was pursued and apprehended. He was subsequently handed over for legal processing. The Second Precinct of the Taichung City Police Bureau stated today that police recently received a report from the 165 anti-fraud hotline indicating that a citizen was suspected of being defrauded by a "fake bank loan" scam. The victim was instructed to mail their ATM card to a designated convenience store. Upon receiving the report, officers from the Yucai Police Station initiated an interception mechanism and established a contact point with the convenience store. This morning, a convenience store employee noticed a man arriving to pick up the suspected package and immediately notified the police according to the agreed-upon procedure. When officers arrived at the scene, the 32-year-old suspect, identified as Mr. Huang, immediately fled on foot. Police immediately launched a pursuit, and after chasing him for over 200 meters, successfully intercepted and arrested him. After police legally confirmed the contents of the package, they discovered the ATM card handed over by the victim. Following questioning, the case was transferred to the Taiwan Taichung District Prosecutors Office for investigation on suspicion of fraud and violation of the Money Laundering Control Act.
