TOKYO, July 3 (CNA) -- Japanese actor Jiro Sato has been accused by Japanese media of allegedly "harassing" lead actress Ai Hashimoto during the filming of a Fuji TV drama. Media reports citing sources revealed today that Fuji TV has decided not to cast Sato in another drama. Kyodo News and the Sankei Shimbun reported today that sources revealed Sato was to be replaced in another drama that was scheduled to be released in conjunction with the movie "Bayside Shakedown: The Final" (tentative translation), set to premiere in September. Sato's original filming plans for this project have now been canceled. Fuji TV's public relations department stated, "We do not respond to details regarding drama production." Regarding the "Bunshun Online" report, Fuji TV responded, "It is true that the male actor's behavior and speech were sternly warned against, and measures were requested to prevent such incidents from happening again." Fuji TV also stated that the external lawyer's investigation determined Sato's actions and words were problematic. Meanwhile, Sato's management agency released a statement saying, "We have not confirmed any facts constituting harassment, and such accusations are inappropriate." Jiro Sato also posted on his X account today, asserting, "Of course, I know this is a biased report, but I didn't expect it to be this exaggerated.
