The slight decrease in the unemployment rate mainly reflects a 0.3 percentage point drop in the labor force participation rate to 61.5%, a new low since March 2021. Household employment decreased sharply by 507,000 last month. According to the data, average hourly earnings in June increased by 0.3% month-on-month and 3.5% year-on-year, both in line with market expectations.
