Among them, the first cohort student, Hsiao-yen, graduated from Hsinchu Senior High School this year and has returned to the course as a volunteer to help accompany subsequent students, demonstrating the fruits of support. Wu Hsu-chih stated in a press release that there are a total of 3,672 students with special education needs in Hsinchu County's high schools and below, accounting for about 5% of all students in the county. This requires a support system built by the government, schools, non-profit organizations, parents, and volunteers. The unicycle charity course, through sports and interaction, accompanies children in cultivating self-confidence. Wu Hsu-chih said that the unicycle charity course has so far accompanied 135 families with children with special needs. The course is about to enter its 10th session, and the 3rd unicycle adventure tour is scheduled to be held in January next year, leading the children to challenge 16 kilometers. Hsiao-yen said that he was a first-cohort student. After graduating from Hsinchu Senior High School this year, he returned to the course as a volunteer. For him, unicycling has been an important companion during his growth, and he has also experienced the importance of family support and course resources. Taipei City Education Care Association Founding Chairman Yin Yu-chuan said that children with special needs require more time and understanding. Unicycle training can help children cultivate concentration and frustration tolerance through repeated practice, and gradually build self-confidence.
