The Facebook fan page "IDF Ching-kuo" stated that the first live-fire test of the supersonic anti-ship missile, codenamed Project Hsiung-Zhi, had been postponed multiple times due to various factors. This morning, a Ching-kuo fighter jet, serial number 1490, carried the missile aloft and conducted a live-fire exercise off the coast of Jiupeng, completing a phase of verification. The air-launched Hsiung Feng-3 missile was originally scheduled for live-fire testing in March but was canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. A military source confirmed this afternoon that an IDF fighter jet carried the "air-launched Hsiung Feng-3 missile" this morning and completed a live-fire exercise off the coast of Jiupeng. The NCSIST developed the air-launched Hsiung Feng-3 under the project name "Project Hsiung-Zhi." The missile body is smaller than the ship-launched and land-launched versions and can be mounted under the wings of an IDF jet. Because it is launched from a fighter jet, the two boosters originally on the Hsiung Feng-3 missile have been omitted, significantly reducing its weight.
