The Ruan migrant worker went to catch crabs near the Erlin River in Fangyuan Township on the evening of the 28th. His electric scooter was parked by the riverbank, and he did not return all night. It was uncertain if he had fallen into the water. Upon arrival, firefighters conducted searches in groups along the shore and using drones. They searched back and forth near the scooter but found nothing. Firefighters further searched by boat from under the Tai 17 Line Yongxing Bridge. The search area extended approximately 500 meters upstream and about 1 kilometer downstream from the missing person's scooter location, but still no discovery was made. At 8:20 AM today, a citizen discovered a suspected drowning victim near the Yongxing Haipu coastal levee, about 1.6 kilometers downstream from the scooter. The Fire Department stated that there were large bushes at the scene, making it impossible to bring the drowning victim out directly. A fire equipment vehicle was used to lower a rescue boat into the water. At 9:25 AM, the drowning victim was rescued ashore and assessed to be deceased. The identity was confirmed by the family.
